Summer 2012

Ken's son and family visit La Grande in early August.  A new experience for the grandsons
was shooting with a bow and arrow.

A trip to Morgan Lake was fun for all!

Spencer patiently...well at least for a couple minutes...tried his
skills from shore.

Joanne enjoyed a visit with Melissa and family.  Here grand daughter Elena plays in the "Teachers Fountain" in NW Portland.  This site is "dedicated to all who educate and inspire"...indeed appropriate for Elena's teacher parents!

Then it was on to Bellevue to visit Mary and family.  The hot weather was enjoyed by all as  they joined others for a dip in Lake Washington.

Joanne and her grand daughters had a great time camping one day...okay...so it was in the middle of the living room :-)

Another special event in Washington was a visit from my niece, Teresa.

On the return trip to La Grande, Joanne picked up oodles of peaches and pears in the Yakima Valley. Thus, we've canned about 100 jars (qts. and pts.) of peaches and pears.  Who ever guessed that a farm shop would one day become a cannery site!  Obviously from viewing Ken's ski hat, you'll realize there are chilly mornings in late Aug.

Here's a surprise visitor to our farm!  Our neighbor took this photo one very early morning before we were even up. We've had visits from skunks and chipmunks and antelope this summer but this is the first deer we've seen at our door!
