From Mesa we ventured south to Casa Grande for a couple weeks and stayed at the Desert Shadows Western Horizon RV Park. How about this grand sunset that adorned the western sky this week?

Last weekend we enjoyed a dinner out with the O'Briens! Robbie came from Portland and Erin flew in from Boston to cheer Pete on as he participated in a Phoenix-area marathon. There likely will be major changes in each of their lives this coming year so it was just great to get caught up on the latest!
One of the most enjoyable parts of our lifestyle is meeting up with friends. Last year Ken initially met Doug and Eunice Casey from Calgary, Canada on the Atlantic Beach in St. Augustine, FL. Then we parked near each other at Moore Haven, FL. Again we met up in Destin FL. Would you believe this fall Ken and I were watching TV in St. George, UT and who should ring our doorbell? Yes...there was Eunice. Our itinerary again meshed so we ended up in Pahrump, NV and shared Thanksgiving dinner. These past two weeks have had some great times while both families were at the Casa Grande park! Small world indeed!
As of Jan. 18, we have driven west to Quartzsite, AZ where we will spend two weeks boondocking in the desert with the Escapees Boomers group. This is always an experience that is amazing...lots of good food, happy hours, sharing in many activities and enjoying the Quartzsite RV show! (In case you don't know, this little town of Quartzsite swells from a very small town to maybe 850,000 for a couple weeks of January.)
