Greenbelt Park in Washington, DC was a delightful place to park during our 10-day stay! It was quiet, private, beautiful, and the price was right at $7/night with a Golden Age Pass! A Monday visit to Annapolis, MD and then out to Dover, Delaware gave us perspective on what lies to the east of DC. Mt. Vernon was a fascinating place that we visited on our last day in DC. The newly opened educational center was the scene of multiple interactive displays and films. We even were touched with real live snow during a scene from the revolutionary war! Upon leaving DC, we drove by Andrews Air Base, across the Potomac to the east, through the outskirts of Richmond, VA, and to Williamsburg, VA.Thurs., Nov. 2, visits to the Williamsburg Historic District and then out to Jamestown added to understanding of history. Physically being in the locations that we have read about in history books is quite awesome! The photo below is the Governor's Palace in Williamsburg.
