Celebrations of June 2013

We left Eastern Oregon the very end of May and initially had a fun evening with Jon's family in Sunnyside, WA.  From there we ventured on to Woodinville, WA where we parked our motor home on our friend's sod farm for several nights.

The first day Joanne spent with the ladies in the family at a shower for niece Teresa (center) as we prepared to celebrate her wedding.  We enjoyed pedicures, manicures, and a delicious luncheon at a local restaurant.

Day two was the sixth birthday party in Bellevue for granddaughter Harlow.  She had a unicorn party...that meant all the little girls had the pleasure of riding two ponies that were all dolled up for a visit to the beautiful backyard.

Harlow's aunties from Portland and Beaverton helped extensively during this party for 18 little kindergarten age girls.  They enjoyed face painting, a pinata, designing jeweled bracelets, and painting sun catchers.

Of course the unicorn atop the cake...seven layers of rainbow colored delicacy... was also a highlight.

The following day we drove east about 30 miles to Snoqualamie Falls, WA, the spectacular location of niece Teresa's wedding.

The ceremony was in a tulle covered patio area overlooking the falls...how exquisite!

The bride was GORGEOUS and the groom extremely HANDSOME ...this was a wedding celebrating a couple that definitely cherishes each other!

From Seattle area we ventured to the Olympia area for two days of appointments and visiting State Patrol friends.  Upon arriving in Portland, we parked at the Clackamette Park right on the Willamette River.  The view right out our window included many boats fishing for salmon, bass, shad, or ???  The large flock of geese of all ages were especially fun for our grand daughter to watch.

Then Saturday morning we were up bright and early to celebrate  grandson Justin's graduation at a ceremony in the Beaverton School district.

This big smile says it all.  Wheee...good bye high school!!!

Justin is my second grandson.  It was very special to have all three of my daughters present with their families  for this milestone in Justin's life.

The very next day we  continued partying!!!  June 12th and June 21st are the second birthdays of our two youngest grand daughters.  A party in the park with our families and with other special family friends made it one more joyful day.

Little miss Elena thought the swings were lots of fun!

Little miss Hayden loved blowing those big bubbles!

Upon leaving Portland we stopped in The Dalles for a night at the home of friends Gary and Vonda.  Both our families then headed to LePage Park on the John Day River as it flows into the gorgeous Columbia River.  After many miles of traveling we are totally convinced that the mighty Columbia is the most beautiful river in America!  There we fished for a couple days before returning home to La Grande.

Our latest celebration was an opportunity to visit the Eisiminger family.  My very dear friend Lynn (on the right) I've known since grade 2 when her family moved to La Grande from Kansas.   She was visiting her sister (on the left) and her dad.  Would you ever guess that this dear man is currently 99 years young?
