Visitors from the Northwest

It was midnight on Feb. 20th before we arrived home in AZ City after meeting the plane bringing daughter Mary and our granddaughters. Our week was filled with many memories!

The first afternoon we entertained a "Happy Hour Gathering" of our area's Clean Up Crew. Among the guests was a surprise visitor...none other than MICKEY!

Harlow was our official door greater and serving supervisor for what she called "the humongous pizza"!

Guests each brought an appetizer to share.  You'll note the "pink play dough" ginger bread men that the grand daughters added to the hors d'oeuvres table!

We left the girls for a day and drove to Mesa for the annual Southern Gathering of the  Retired Washington State Patrol. Among the special people we visited were these two lady friends (and one's son) who were positively impacted by legislation and revised processes within the WSP retirement system.  

As always, we enjoyed meeting friends from the past and greeting those we seldom see.  An update on the current retiree issues was appreciated.

Playing school was one of our favorite games this week!  As you can see, the talented students  turned Grandma's "studio" into a world class Art Museum!

Among the fun activities was prepping for the Easter Bunny Hunt that will be coming in a month.  Many  times we hid the eggs for each other...the girls will be pros this Easter!

Playing nail salon was another favorite...our tootsies are definitely clean!

One evening our special neighborhood friends joined us to go "fire fishing"...using our new Quartzsite rig for smore preparation!  It was a chilly AZ evening but fun for all!

On the way to the airport the last day of the visit, Terry and Dard took the girls to the Phoenix Zoo...Hayden's first Zoo trip of her life.  They had fun feeding the giraffe and Harlow had a ride on a camel!
