"Daze" of Summer 2009
Among the fun events of this summer were the gatherings that included friends and family. In July the Oregon State University Gamma Phi's enjoyed a great reunion in Beaverton. Some of the "sisters" I hadn't seen for over 40 years! Though many of us have changed lots in appearance, it was remarkable how the voices sound the same.

Livng in a motorhome has it's challenges when performing some of life's tradional activities. Fortunately when we are in Oregon for the summer, we have a huge shop that we can park next to. Here's an example of one of the operations that we perform in that space...good ol canning of juicy fresh peaches.

Ken succumbed to my pestering regarding the motor home remodel...that is removing much of the carpet and replacing it with ceramic tile. The challenges were many. However, I (Joanne) love it! Ken has also confessed that it does look more updated without the 7 year old trampled, soiled carpet.

Truthfully, the job was greatly influenced by the expertise of our friend Gary! We really didn't plan the tile project for the days Gary and Vonda were visiting. However, we truly lucked out and send our appreciation to them!

Our very first visitor to the Parsons Garden Inn (see former blog entry for details) was Joanne's friend since childhood, Gavin. It was great to see him as he journeyed from Portland back to his home in Santa Teresa, NM.

The next visitors to the Parsons Garden Inn were son Jon and family! We had a super weekend that concluded with a picnic in the area adjacent to the Inn.

It was fun for our grandchildren to get acquainted with our great neices and nephew.

A highlight of the weekend was Grandpa Ken taking the "men" fishing at Philips Reservoir. Here Keaton shows his "slippery" trout!
