Summer 2013 - One to Remember!

Early July we enjoyed a visit from Jon & family from Sunnyside, WA.  Here  our  nephew and family and my sister joined us all for a picnic on the Grande Ronde River.  You'll note below that the grand kids, nephew and nieces had a super time cooling off in the river.

Our grandsons spent several hours practicing their skills with their bow and arrow .
The following week Michelle's family visited from Beaverton.  Michelle and Adam participated in Vacation Bible School at church...we had a great week.  Then on Saturday, we took Adam fishing at Wolf Creek Reservoir.  As you can see, we did have action!

The following week Joanne was back to Portland and had  a spectacular week with  daughters and grand kids!  We visited the zoo, played in a water park in the area, and enjoyed the Wilsonville summer concert of Johnny Limbo (one of my high school classmates).  Seeing many friends was of course a highlight too!

Upon returning to La Grande, Joanne was home for about two hours and then we were off to Hells Canyon.  We stayed on the Idaho side of the river at Woodhead Park...a very nice place!

The temperature was HOT...100-111 to be precise.  Thank goodness for the air conditioner in the RV!  Here are photos of the fish that popped into our boat...bass, crappie, and cat fish.  It was FUN!!

The last morning we were in Hells Canyon we awoke to an email and photo that reported our alfalfa haystack was on fire in La Grande!   The following photo was about 4 days later.  The stack of about 150 tons of hay burned for a couple weeks.  So...it's been one HOT summer!
