September Family Visit

Our fall started off with a very enjoyable visit with Mary's family.  The first day their aunt entertained us at lunch in her home.  Ms. Hayden  joined many other family members from years past.  She  enjoyed her lunch while sitting in the family high chair...one that has been used by multiple generations!

On Friday we all took a ride up through Wallowa County to visit Wallowa Lake.  Ms. Harlow was most impressed with her new friend, Liam.  (That's a worm in her hand that she be-friended in the state park at the south end of the lake!  Isn't it amazing what is more fun than fancy toys?)

While playing back  in La Grande at the farm, the grand daughters settled for making "rock soup" over the requested "mud pies".  Their family also enjoyed visiting with Mary's high school friends and their children.

Yes...Dad caught a little shut-eye but the hammock kept getting bumps from mysterious movement underneath :-).

The family all got their exercise as they challenged each other to multiple badminton games

Saturday evening we enjoyed a barbecue with the cousins over in Cove.  Here the two-year old little ladies were imagining what it would be like to be driving in "a few" years!

The ladies enjoyed their picnic dinner!

The men (and my sister) also had a great time catching up on life's activities.

We especially appreciated how the older children provided care, concern, and great role-modeling for the younger ones!
