May & June 2015 with Friends & Family

The trek north included an enjoyable visit with friends Stan, Elaine, and Peggy in Pahrump, NV.  Seeing their new homes and catching up on "life" is always fun.

If you want to hear a "horror story", just ask Ken about "kerosene in the tank"!  Thanks to Stan's assistance, the tale ended on a happy note :-).  I just couldn't resist inserting this photo!

Our friend Rich headed north with us in Nevada for prospecting stops in the Seven Troughs and Placerites areas before arriving at Rabbit hole.

We joined the Smith family from Washington state for our gold prospecting adventure as well as sharing some delectable meals!

Here's another dining experience with others who joined us at Rabbithole...Peggy, Gay, & Ron.  Yes we are roughing it out here in the outback of Nevada!  (We are MILES away from any town and only a couple vehicles usually pass by daily).  Can you imagine how the early gold prospectors would have felt about the gourmet meals, hot showers after a day of labor, and of course the cell phone (even though we had to drive to a mountain top for service.)

After heading back to Oregon we've spent extensive time with a farm antique sale as we are planning to remove a century plus old barn on our property.

In mid June Joanne had a wonderful trip to the Portland/Beaverton area to check in with family and friends.  My goodness...those baby twin grand daughters really grew in the past six moths.  They are sooooo sweet!!

Other dear friends, the Detricks, have also become grand parents TWICE this spring.  It was truly enjoyable to see the new babies and the young parents who my daughters "grew up" with.  Additionally seeing  other sorority sister friends Nancy and Robbie on this visit made the excursion extra special.

A Saturday lunch out with with life-long friend Lynn gave lots of opportunities for catching up on life's journey..

Celebrating birthdays was a highlight of the week.  Grand daughter Elena turned four years old and literally had 4 parties...1)pre-school, 2)  dinner on her actual birthday, 3)  family on Saturday, and 4) her little friends on Sunday.

Elena gets lots of giggles splashing in her new pool with Uncle Tommy at the family birthday party!

While visiting the Portland Beaverton area grandson Adam had a big event...8th grade is behind him and he is NOW in high school!

June is a big birthday month in our family.  Grand daughters Harlow and Hayden are each celebrating another year.  Included in their birthday surprises was special swim gear...now they are official mermaids!
